About

Cathy Kostova (Founder)

My 20+ years long experience with technology and my passion for visual storytelling crossed paths to create Catko with the purpose to support businesses through change.

Across my 5 years as a project manager for various cloud software providers and my 15 years as an implementation consultant of Source-to-Pay technologies, I witnessed that in spite of all resources and effort being put on the implementation of a new product, its intended users often resisted to adopt it or in better but in no way ideal cases: they endured a long period of struggle before people became comfortable with the change. In the worst cases, this struggle led to people leaving their roles and the company suffering a crisis. All in the name of making things better?

Additionally, working in the corporate world for this long opened my eyes into how difficult it is for this sphere to be authentically inclusive, to eradicate ingrained toxic culture and to improve people’s happiness overall. Luckily, the world as a whole is opening up to the idea that employers should take more responsibility for their people’s wellbeing. But still, putting this change in practice is easier said than done.

There are psychological and developmental reasons why our species is resistant to change but ultimately, to do anything new, we need 1) a nudge in the right direction, 2) clarity on what to do and 3) a reward for doing it.

Catko‘s methodology is to partner with companies to create a strategy, which fully defines these three simple steps, to create a clear plan for action and to build the supporting materials required to execute this plan.
